Plastic exhaust air scrubber
MAALS exhaust air scrubber for laboratories, horizontal design
Simple operation, full control
Monitoring of the waste water and fresh water system and optional transmission of status messages from the exhaust air scrubber to your building management system.
Details:
The air scrubber in horizontal design,
type MAALS, can be integrated into the top section of the extractor as an additional element. The washing principle, utilising a newly developed bell-shaped base, is characterised by particularly high efficiency with very low water and energy consumption.
The washing principle:
The water, which acts as the washing fluid, is distributed across the bell-shaped base by a maintenance-free, low-noise circulation pump. The air extracted from the fume cupboard is passed through this bell-shaped base and, in combination with the washing water, creates a very strong bubbling effect, through which our exhaust air scrubber achieves separation rates of up to 96% of pollutants.
How it works:
The MAALS-type absorption system operates fully automatically and is virtually maintenance-free. The exhaust air scrubber is controlled via a compact programmable logic controller. The washing water is automatically topped up and replenished via a level control system, which also provides start-up and dry-run protection for the pump. The contaminated washing water is discharged via a motorised ball valve with a large, unobstructed cross-section (standard version).
The equipment variants:
The MAALS absorption system is available in several variants:
- Conductivity monitoring
The electrical conductivity of the water is continuously monitored. The wash water is discharged when a preset limit value is reached. - pH monitoring
Discharge occurs when a preset pH value is reached. - pH regulation
The wash water is neutralised using a pH dosing system so that it can be discharged into the sewage system at a neutral pH.
The results:
The MAALS absorption system achieves above-average separation efficiency for pollutants. This has been confirmed on multiple occasions by an independent, state-accredited institute.
